It's Monday again!
4:55 a.m.
I yawn as I grudgingly stand up from the bed to get ready for the day. I can't believe it's Monday again.
Rushing out of the house to get a keke to my junction so I can head to the next junction.
6:29 a.m.
I'm running out of time, and I'm not sure if I'll make it in time to catch the bus. It's a very busy morning, but let God see us through.
Dunsin plays in my head as I sit in the keke. He tries to stop to look for other passengers after I told him I'm in a hurry. I TOLD THIS GUY O! Can this man go any faster? If I miss this bus, I'll have more costs incurred.
The road is busy, there are traffic lights, and this car doesn't want to let us pass on time.
Oooooohhhhhh.
Can you just be fast?????
I check the time, and it's 6:52 a.m.
I have to be there by 7 a.m. Ha!
God of speed.
“Owo Oluwa 'nbe l'ori aye mi ooo
On gbemi fo
On gbemi sareeeeee...”
Do this one for me.
We're here.
“Oga, take your money.” Mtchewwwww.
I walk as fast as I can to the bus stop, checking the time and hoping that the next bus that comes is the bus I'm waiting for.
7:10 a.m.
Waiting under the tree, my pulse is still up from the adrenaline rush of walking fast to meet up. Cars are passing faster than I can count, and at the same time, they're staring at me — a good look at this corper in full khaki...
These chickens are really having fun around me, walking and running around. I'm still scared of them, but I'm in public, so let me maintain the small steeze I have.
The bikes are so loud and speeding too close to me. I'll have to move closer to the chickens or allow a bike to step on my leg! I'll take my chances with the chickens.
Oh, the bus is he—
Nope, it's just the same colour.
It's been 15 minutes, and I don't know how to hold my hands anymore. Should I cross them, put a hand on my bag, stand akimbo, or fiddle with my fingers?
I'm feeling muddled.
It's a whole lot going on, right?
That's how my morning went ooo.
Just my morning.
The rest of my day? More stimulation, I guess.
Monday will come and go. I went out and will come back home.
Have an auspicious and serendipitous week.
I need to get a dictionary.
Runs...
